The Merchant Ale House $$
98 St Paul St, St. Catharines - L2R 3M2
Cuisines: Pubs
Customer's reviews..
Shout out to Merchant Ale House downtown St Catharines—I was looking for a laidback pub style restaurant and this is it. Great friendly staff, food is comforting And the Beers are great! We had the burger, crispy chicken hoagie and split their amazing sweet potato wedges! Fair priced and really just a great place to kickback on my lazy day off of a Sunday
"This is the best beer I've ever had!" This is a bold statement, I'll admit. You've heard your drunk mate say this a million times. But honestly, Merchant Ale House is home to the Blueberry Wheat, and it is easily one of the best beers I've ever tasted. Seriously, I drove over 5 hours from Ottawa to drink it. Plus, the food is amazing. Go get some. Do it.

Customer's reviews..
I really enjoyed the nachos and the fish and chips were great. Huge portions and decent prices. The place was busy but not crowded and the food was hot, the service was excellent and it only took a few minutes between ordering and the food arriving. I like the choice of beer on tap. I will definitely be returning. Thank you.
5/5 Lou was an entertaining server. Informative and quick. Nacho's are AMAZING. Excellent choice of beer. The food was great. Wings and Nacho's

Bugsy's $$
33 Lakeshore Rd, St. Catharines - L2N 7B3
Cuisines: Bar & Grill Pubs
Customer's reviews..
Always loud but, always super friendly with great pub food choices! One of my favourite places to hang out when I'm in town. It's also the only restaurant I will order chicken fingers at because they are just too good.
It is a watering hole. Had some good memories, but the food should be avoided. The deep fryer seems to never get a change of oil. The sandwiches are a waste, except for the giant bun. The ribs are tender, but bland, unfortunate. Service will situate you with a smile, but may dump the table after that too often. Like I said, it is a watering hole.

Cat's Caboose $$
224 Glenridge Ave, St. Catharines - L2T 3J9
Cuisines: Pubs Canadian
Customer's reviews..
Went to this place all the time when I used to live here. Had not been for a long time but was in town for visit so....Server was excellent. However, wings were pricy and not well seasoned. Pizza was not cooked and had to be returned to kitchen. Pizza was not cheap by any means so I expected better. Could not find any tomato sauce at all...better for less at Little C's. Guess I should have ordered a burger........
I've only been here a few times but have always left satisfied. A lot of good food at respectable prices and portions, with some good daily specials and live music. I went recently with a group of 8 with no reservation and they were able to quickly accommodate us with no wait time, the service was surprisingly good and fast despite the restaurant being very busy. A few minor complaints with the food, the chicken wings were decently sized and juicy but I received all of mine as drumsticks and another at the table received all of his as flats, personally I prefer drumsticks anyway but I think they should be mixed. The pulled pork on the sandwich was also a little dry, but overall a great staple restaurant of the city and I would recommend it to anyone who has never been here.

Kim's Wooden Nicol $
224 Lakeport Rd Unit 1, St. Catharines - L2N 4L5
Cuisines: Pubs Burgers
Customer's reviews..
Horrible experience to be honest, I used to go there all the time but about a year ago Kim turned into an angry lady. Constantly rude to customers, not just myself. Today me and my girlfriend went into the nicol to eat (I showed up first) and Kim sat me, when my girlfriend showed up Kim refused to let her in EVEN THOUGH WE LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE. On top of that the food is below average.. more of a drunk food bar. 1/10 star
We were on our way to Port Dalhousie when we saw this place and decided to stop in, because we were a little pressed for time. Cozy little spot albeit a little bit dark for my taste. Service friendly but a little slow. The food was good, we had nachos. I like the cheeky sayings on the walls and overall the cozy neighborhood pub atmosphere. Worth a try.

Cuisines: Pubs
Customer's reviews..
We were looking for a good hamburger and we found it! The meat, trimmings, including Brie were delicious. Excellent service and attention to detail. For instance extra napkins, a must with juicy hamburgers, were included with the cutlery. Usually I have to ask. Nice patio overlooking the bay.
Food was quite good and Calamari tasty but that Bruchetta pizza with shrimp was fantastic. Service was attentive and friendly.

Patrick Sheehan's Irish Pub $$
101 St Paul St, St. Catharines - L2R 3M3
Cuisines: Irish Pub Pubs
Customer's reviews..
Easily the worst “Irish” pub I’ve ever been in. I started drinking Guinness at the healthy age of 16. I grew up in Ireland and have done my fair share of travelling. To be presented with the Guinness I got in this place would embarrass the Guinness Family. To be told it doesn’t travel well and that I was the only one complaining about it was enough for me to see that how to pour a Guinness wasn’t their only issue. For some reason they only take cash but don’t have a sign anywhere stating it, so you have to either leave to get cash out or conveniently use their ATM and pay the fees. Happy to say I’ll never step foot back in this joke of a pub again. Just because you put an Irish name and a Guinness sign above the door doesn’t make you an Irish Pub. This place is the furthest from an Irish pub I’ve ever experienced. If you’re looking for an authentic Irish Pub with Irish Music and a proper pint of Guinness, visit The Irish Harp in Niagara on the Lake. They know what they are doing!
Got kicked out when I hadn’t have a drink in over 2 hours. Bar tender said I was too drunk because I was dancing happily alone.
