Vista 18 Restaurant + Lounge $$
740 Burdett Ave, Victoria - V8W 1B2
Cuisines: Wine Bar Seafood
Customer's reviews..
The view was great as was the general ambiance. We had excellent service throughout the dinner. The duck ordered by my partner was judged to be superb. I had the ancient grain bowl with tofu, it was very good.....I think it could have even been better if the tofu was cooked a little bit more creatively, as presented it did not really contribute positively to the rest of the dish which was fantastic......had the tofu been compressed more to remove more water and then sautéed until crisp on the outside or even deep fried it would have contributed a positive textural aspect to the other components in the bowl. The dessert, the chocolate trio which we shared was a perfect finish to the meal. We had each an espresso, normally without having to specify it either arrives with the dessert or shortly after, ours arrived a few minutes before so was consumed before we had received the dessert, which really negates the whole point of ordering an espresso with dessert.
Wonderful view with good food - we would return.Quiet. Perhaps suits an older crowd.

Steamship Grill & Bar $$
470 Belleville St, Victoria - V8E 1W9
Cuisines: Seafood Cocktail Bar
Customer's reviews..
Our family of 5 had a lovely meal tonight at Steamship Grill. We had pre booked a table online so only had to wait a few minutes for our table. We were given the choice of inside or outside - we chose outside for a great view of Victoria Harbour. The food, wine and service were all excellent. We particularly enjoyed the crab cakes, steaks, lobster ravioli and cheesecake. The waiter was friendly and efficient. We would certainly recommend this restaurant if visiting Victoria.
Lunch today, first time in. VERY SLOW and inattentive service. 45 minutes to get a very small disappointing burger with 1/2 cup of cold greasy fries fir $21 and an overcooked yet surprisingly greasy fish taco. Place is run down, dirty and no management to be seen. Service staff are clearly untrained or disalusioned or both. Place was not busy, no excuse except maybe they rely on tourists who will never be back. Save your money and keep on walkin’

Blue Crab Seafood House $$
146 Kingston St, Victoria - V8V 1V4
Cuisines: Seafood
Customer's reviews..
Visiting Victoria. The view from our table was lovely. Food was good but expensive as were the drinks. The restaurant is in the Coast hotel and pretty casual. Did not seem to have a dress code so we were somewhat overdressed compared to the other patrons.
Stopped in here for dinner after a whale-watching tour and it was the closest one to the harbour so we thought we'd try it. We were seated at the patio and the view was nice, thought slightly obscured by tables around the balcony. Since we are a big group they were not able to seat us closest to the view since there are only small tables around the balcony area. Service was excellent in terms of our server's communication and service level. Prepared dishes were flavourful. Snow crab legs were good. Unfortunately the dungeness crab was underwhelming. The meat was soft, which was unusual, leading us to believe it's either undercooked or frozen (we really hope not). We've had fresh crab before and this did not resemble that. Considering the cost, this was a disappointment. Thinking on this, I wish I had asked what seafood was fresh and what was not-local or frozen.

Agrius $$
732 Yates St, Victoria - V8W 1L4
Cuisines: Seafood Tapas/Small Plates
Customer's reviews..
The tapas were okay - but nothing special in our opinion. The pizza, however, was excellent! This will become our favourite pizza place now. Creative and tasty cocktails, and local BC wines round out the menu.
Charcuterie is all house-made and phenomenal. They offer natural local wines and the sommelier did an amazing job guiding us to find the perfect one. Totally recommended!

Customer's reviews..
The place is accessible, public parking is just few steps away. For the price, seems cheaper compared to Fisherman’s Wharf. I loved the chowder and the seafood dishes. The line is quite long. The location though is so nice. ❤️
We got there when they first opened. (We'd noticed that a massive line was the norm, later in the day.) I'd seen it recommended so thought we'd give it a try. They were surly and the fish tacone gave me indigestion.

Customer's reviews..
Visited here for the “Dine Around and Stay in Town Victoria” program. First time but was decently surprised - service was good, nice vibe, and the food was decent! Particularly liked the pesto risotto- it’s creamy and full of flavours, but everything could be slight less salty for my preference. All in all great place!
Came here for dinner. Our server was fantastic! Had such a good window spot. The service was greatttt (I believe his name was Hunter). They however, ran out of oysters which was super disappointing, but I didn't want to take a star away from that. Would come back 1000%. The tuna poke bowl was good but the dessert was definitely the winner!

The Courtney Room $$
619 Courtney St, Victoria - V8W 1B8
Cuisines: Seafood Canadian
Customer's reviews..
Left a google review that was never responded to - however my biggest gripe is the price compared to the meal and service. $110 for a three course meal (two courses of essentially salad and a dessert) is over priced.
Fantastic food with very rich flavor. Definitely not just a plate of food with some seasonings that you could get from a local grocery store. You can easily tell the food is prepared by an experienced and professional cook. The service is good, you can certainly expect a casual fine dining experience.Spaces between tables is a disaster though. The restaurant is always quite busy so I can understand it.Overall, very recommended.

10 Acres Commons $$
620 Humboldt St, Victoria - V8W 1A4
Cuisines: Gastropubs Seafood
Customer's reviews..
Never go there . They stole My money. They made a mistake on my bill and were supposed to cancel . But they never did and made me pay the new bill. I contacted them by phone and email with all my patience. They kept asking one question per email and took forever to reply. After a few months I’m still waiting to get my money back . They don’t seem to take it seriously and it is serious since that restaurant stole a customers money . So never go go there. Bonus : the service wasn’t great and they gave me the wrong dish and I never complain Where is my money ?
Loved 10 Acres Bistro, so thought we would try the Commons another night. I am giving them 3 stars purely because the mixed drinks were excellent, so well done to the bar staff. Unfortunately the food was rather mediocre and left us feeling like we'd rather have had a sandwich at home and just gone out for a drink, and the service was poor. There were clearly too many tables per server, so waiting ages to get their attention, and then they forget to bring what you wanted. Our allocated server was also not friendly, and only talked to the men in the group, as though the women didn't exist. This was commented on by everyone after.

I ordered takeout here several times during my stay in James Bay. Always excellent, fresh food. I particularly loved the caesar salad and mussels, though the chocolate ganache covered mousse was delicious as well. I haven't eaten in, so cannot comment on service, but the food itself is well cooked and delightful.

Sookjai Thai Restaurant $$
893 Fort St, Victoria - V8W 1H7
Cuisines: Thai Seafood Salad
Customer's reviews..
My partner and I eat take-out, especially Asian food, more often than we’d like to admit, but we both agree that this is the best that we have had in a long time! The portions are generous and the flavours are rich and immensely satisfying. The short interaction I had with the servers while collecting our order showed me that they are incredibly friendly and professional, and thanks to the atmosphere of the place I think that next time we order we will come in for a table.5 stars barely do it justice, I’m delighted that we have moved to a city with such excellent cultural cuisine
We showed up about 20 minutes before close and asked if we were too late to be sat. They let us right in. Staff was so welcoming, fun, and helpful the entire night. And the food was amazing!! We especially loved the mango smoothie. Servings large enough for at least 2 meals - you get your money’s worth here

Cuisines: Fine Dining Seafood
Customer's reviews..
Great food, wonderful staff! The food was amazing and well priced. The waiter was great, with good recommendations.Would highly recommend!
Harbor house Had a 2 evening stay in victoria and decided to look for a nice upscale restaurant with steak on the menu. When we arrived were greeted warmly by staff dressed in traditional black and white, tables were smartly outfitted with white linen and folded napkins. Very traditional fine dining decor. Ordered French onion soup, a 8 oz New York strip and rib eye steak, The soup was very good as were our drinks. When the main course arrived a steak and lobster was placed in front of me. When I protested it wasn’t what I ordered the server questioned my memory and went thru her order book to discover, no I did not order steak and lobster. She said she would correct it, my plate remained in front of me and she proceeded to remove the lobster from my plate, leaving behind a 6 oz steak and the butter and lemon. When I said well, is it even the same steak? “Yes exactly”. Turns out the steak and lobster has a 6 oz steak. Which she admitted to once we enquired. She offered to have a 8 oz steak prepared for me -but by this time I had 1/2 finished my meal. My husbands rib eye steak tasted good but had a 2”x2” blob of gristle. We were compensated for the smaller steak with a complementary drink - but out evening experience was soiled. If we come into a restaurant and pay $50 for a steak. 1- if there is a problem the plate should be removed and dealt with in the kitchen and not be treated like we are in a cafeteria with a $10 plate. 2- staff shouldn’t question if we remembered what we ordered 3- a rib eye steak (the most tender of cuts -quote from menu) should not have 2oz of gristle. Unfortunately, we left unimpressed and will definitely not be spending any more money at this establishment

Flying Otter Grill $$
950 Wharf St, Victoria - V8W 1T3
Cuisines: Seafood Canadian
Customer's reviews..
Fish and chips were good. Nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy the evening. Only thing I didn’t like was ordering first then finding a table. The guy at the front seemed a little confused. All and all not too bad.
We came back to The Flying Otter several times as the Halibut burger with a gluten-free bun was awesome! The staff were all knowledgeable about gluten-free and celiac preparation. The halibut was grilled separately and the gluten-free bun held up (didn't crumble). You order, pay first then are given a number and go find a place to sit. We came at many different times and never had an issue finding somewhere to sit. The regular halibut fish and chips were also good. The coleslaw was good too. A great restaurant with safe, gluten-free options. Down on the water, lots to take in and enjoy as well. We happily went back during our week in Victoria!

Barb's Fish & Chips $$
1 Dallas Rd, Victoria - V8V 0B2
Cuisines: Seafood Fish & Chips Burgers
Customer's reviews..
The food here was fantastic! We got the 2 piece fish supper and it was a decent portion size - 2 good sized battered fish fillets and chips along with a side of coleslaw and 2 small pots of tartar sauce. The batter was crunchy and light, the fish was fresh and delicious! We didn't have to wait long for our food once we ordered and there was plenty of seating available.
On Fisherman's Wharf which by itself is a lot of fun. You order at the counter and they'll give you a buzzer and you pickup at a window. Seating is at picnic tables with plastic utensils. Soft drinks only but the fish & chips are great!

LURE Restaurant & Bar $$
100 Harbour Rd, Victoria - V9A 0G1
Cuisines: Seafood Lounges
Customer's reviews..
The Mac and cheese bites were delicious, and the drinks were the best I've ever had in Victoria. We also had a valentines day special for lobster pasta, which was alright. It could've had more lobster for the 50 dollars we paid for it. Overall great service and good food. Would definitely go again, but wouldn't get that lobster pasta again.
Nice atmosphere didn't get a chance to try the food but I will be back. The drinks are a bit expensive but I'm guessing the food will be worth it.See ya soon Lure.I finally got to check out the food. It was a little pricey and it was good quality, it's pretty obvious that every plate they serve is $10 roughly overpriced to pay for the atmosphere and the views. If you like that and you got money to spend this is the place you can enjoy yourself.

Q at The Empress $$

Customer's reviews..
Nice ambience, excellent attentive and speedy service. Good quality food.
The food was impeccable. And the interior of the place speaks history itself. I love the contrast of colors, it blended well with the detailed architecture.I especially loved the charcuterie board, I love the bresaola. It was lean, tender and savory. The triple chocolate cake is a definite slice of heaven. It is moist and just the right amount of sweetness plated aesthetically as well. It sent me back to my great memories in Italy with the biscotti dipped in my cappuccino. The only downside is the attentiveness of the server.I told him the latte is too strong for me and just asked for milk. But then it didn’t do any good. It was hard to get his attention that I even have to raise my hands up all the way.Nonetheless, I am coming back because of the food.

Nautical Nellies Steak & Seafood House $$

Customer's reviews..
Food:Burger is juicy and tasty. It came with burnt, refried-tasting fries.I am sensitive to re-used oil. The calamari wasn't only greasy but also smelled like it was cooked in re-used oil.The service is good though. I was attended frequently and welcomed well.
We went there last night and there food wasn't good, with really cheap qualities and pricy. Our drinks was sweet even we asked for unsweet drink 3 times when the waiters getting orders. I ordered medium rare steak with veggie of the day. Steak was well done and hard to chew and veggie was half a zucchini, and my potatoes substituted was Cesar salad and of course they charged you extra for that. My partner ordered vegetarian pasta, taste like they opened the tomatoes soup can and through it there. I won't recommend this place to anyone.

Naughty Nellie's Not Just Fish & Chips $$
4081 Shelbourne St, Victoria - V8N 3K7
Cuisines: Seafood Burgers
Customer's reviews..
I just enjoyed the best fish and chips dinner I have ever had in my life, at Naughty Nellie's restaurant. I very rarely say this about anything, but the food was done flawlessly. The friendly host greeted my guest and I, then seated us as quickly as he could. It was my first time to Nellie's, so our wonderful server, explained items on the menu and checked with the kitchen, to make sure the salmon was caught wild. First we enjoyed some perfectly cooked prawns with zesty seafood sauce. Then, they served the incredibly tender halibut plate and the amazing sockeye salmon plate, with plenty of crispy delicious fries on the side. They also included a side of delicately shredded coleslaw and possibly the best tartar sauce on the planet. My guest and I exchanged one of our pieces of fish, to enjoy the halibut and salmon flavours together. There are also many other options on the menu, so I will be visiting often and they can probably satisfy everyone in your family. Thanks for the excellent experience guys.
Good choice of different kinds of fish. Our ling cod was perfectly cooked, moist with a crispy coating. The fries and Cole slaw were great, good size portions. The kids waited tables very well even though it was very busy. I'll be back!

Nowhere *A Restaurant
#g4 1001, Douglas St, Victoria - V8W 2C5
Cuisines: Seafood
Customer's reviews..
Heard about this tasting menu from someone who had been before and I'm so glad I made reservations. We were treated to 7 courses of deliciousness. Go with an open mind as some of the dishes sound strange but they all worked! We also did the wine pairing but next time I would skip that and just order a glass of something I like. Very small, not at all fancy atmosphere but in my opinion it's a hidden gem.
This was the worst "Tasting Menu" meal I have ever eaten (and I make a point of selecting Tasting Menus in upscale restaurants). "Bitter" would be the best adjective to describe the dishes. The portion sizes were ridiculously small; one course consisted of a single mussel. The beef was extremely overdone. My dinner partner and I literally had to force ourselves to eat a number of the dishes.....and I could not force myself to finish my dessert.....which had no flavour other than sweet. I was SO DISAPPOINTED because according to the reviews the food was tremendous. It was tremendous......tremendously awful....and overpriced.

Customer's reviews..
My family and I went to Pagliacci’s for dinner. Right when we got there we were greeted by our server with water and some of the best homemade focaccia I have ever had! My Boyfriend had the lasagna which he absolutely loved, my mother in law had the Hemingway Short Story tortellini and it was amazing! My Father in law and I both had the ‘I’ll Have What She’s Having’, it was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! It was sooo much seafood for such an amazing price, it was cooked to perfection! Also shout out to Kholby, he was such an amazing server! He gave us honest reviews and recommendations and he was spot on with all of them, he was so friendly and always on the ball with getting us whatever we needed! Will definitely going back to enjoy the food again!
The food was good. I tried 3 dishes off their happy hour menu. Two pictured below: crab cake and duck wings. Both good, the menu describes the sauces differently, but they're both the same.Place got crowded fast, waiters and waitresses were fine.

Excellent food and service.
I’ve enjoyed brunch at the Fireside Grill a dozen times and it never disappoints. We celebrated Father’s Day with dinner there for the first time and it was spectacular. Our server was exceptional, excellent knowledge and wine pairings, patient with our little kids and acknowledged them, allowed them to order themselves (place was busy) food was delicious, hot and timely. We will definitely celebrate other occasions here.

Customer's reviews..
Fantastic little spot. After walking past we couldn't help but get a little curious as the aromas wafted into the street. Mmmm smelled like fish. Myself and my partner decided to stop in for a cheeky anniversary bite. After being cordially shown to our table, server Scott was very knowledgeable and helped us decide on the tuna melt, which he spoke of highly. After chatting briefly, we happened to mention it was our 6 year anniversary. Chef Carter went above and beyond and made us feel so special with his carefully crafted tuna melt. Who knew tuna could be so romantic! Can't wait to come back for our 7th.
Generous portion of fish and chips, and soup was pretty good with a nice kick of spice. For some reason the online ordering system didn’t work out for me, but enjoyed the dine in experience nonetheless as restaurant is very relaxed.
