Santiago's Cafe $$
660 Oswego St, Victoria - V8V 4X2
Cuisines: Mexican
Customer's reviews..
We were looking for mexican and thought this place may have some. Unfortunately, there is very little mexican here. The nachos were dry but edible. The salsa is good, but they need to give you extra. will probably avoid this place if I go back to Victoria.
I drive by on the way home everyday sp finally decided to stop in (a treat after 3 weeks of no eating out and embarking on a weight loss journey). I caught the all day happy hour at 345 and had a yummy red sangria and a big burrito with the side caesar instead of chips. Def worth the $2 extra and one of the best salads I've ever had. While the Burrito was very good I was disappointed to realize 1/3 of the way in it had no meat! (Corn and beans filling). Maybe I missed a meat option. Nevertheless, it had great flavour. Nice music, good service..i wish them much success.Update: stopped by today. Sangria was again, wonderful! I had a beef enchilada recommended by the server. Was soooo good!

La Taquisa Langford $$
768 Goldstream Ave, Victoria - V9B 2X3
Cuisines: Mexican
Customer's reviews..
I've eaten here three times and the third time wasn't filling at all. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with extra for sour cream and guacamole. And a drink. $15. The two times before were filling. Not even close to filling this time. If you want to gamble with still being hungry after paying $15 for a burrito and drink, go right ahead. Honestly don't recommend this place for this reason.
Yummy chips and guacamole. Shrimps in tacos are over fried.

Terrible food and customer service. I went there to pick up the food and waited for close to an hour. When I told them I am not happy with their service, two ladies started yelling at me.

Mucho Burrito Fresh Mexican Grill $$
3016 Merchant Wy Unit 102, Victoria - V9B 0X1
Cuisines: Mexican
Customer's reviews..
The food here is fine, I do enjoy it. The ghost pepper burrito is the best, though it's not always on the menu. This location though is plagued by slow service. If you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. We ordered off the kids menu and they didn't have nachos, the main side with the meal. They only told us once we got to the till, and were not going to offer anything to replace it. Cashier instead told me how much their mark-up is on cookies, instead of trying to make it right.
Food was pretty good, very salty and a bit pricey but overall a decent experience

Tacofino $
760 Pandora Ave, Victoria - V8W 1N9
Cuisines: Mexican Food Trucks
Customer's reviews..
Went in for lunch, the service was fast and friendly. We got the fish taco (x2), yam taco, and the steak taco. My fiancé's favourite is the yam taco. Mine was the steak by far, the sauce and seasoning on the steak is amazing.
Went to Tacofino - WOW!! This place has the best tacos I've ever had in my life! I got the Fish, Tuna and Chicken tacos and I was not disappointed. Taste, portion and presentation beats anything else in Victoria!! They have Dino Sour stone fruit on tap and I gotta say it really complimented that to-die-for meal.I only gave 2 stars as the kitchen REALLY could use a clean. I understand it's super busy all the time but that kitchen needs an entire scrub down, then a plan to keep it clean. The staff were awesome! The service was great, the hostess and other workers were very nice. Great atmosphere and all around amazing place. I will be returning - Hopefully the kitchen gets some attention after this.-Will update when I visit again next month, and amend the star rating / comment :)

Fuego Old Town Eatery
1435 Store St, Victoria - V8W 3C6
Cuisines: Breakfast Mexican Latin American
Customer's reviews..
Nice little joint in a desire full of options. We went in for a quick snack and left satisfied. Chicken Quesadilla and Chips and Guacamole. Everything was fresh. Chips were warm. Menu is a bit small - that being said, they are good at what they do.
Very cute breakfast joint in Victoria. Staff is very polite. I had a chocolate milk and churro pancakes. The chocolate milk was very clearly white milk where they just added some chocolate syrup into it. The pancakes were alright. I wouldn`t get either of those dishes again. My friend had the conquistador and it was delicious. If I come back to Victoria and we go here again, I will be getting the conquistador!

Delicious food and delicious drinks!
My partner and I dropped in while on a recent trip to Victoria. Our wait for a space was not too long, the hostess was “on it” and we finally settled in a place at the bar. The bartender was incredibly engaging and made some amazing margaritas. We did have a few. The food was great and the atmosphere had a great vibe. Other than a rogue waitress spraying some disinfectant right at my partner - accidentally but still upsetting - it was a great night. We will definitely return.

Thrive & Shine Bistro
829 Admirals Rd, Victoria - V9A 2P1
Cuisines: Bistros Juice Bar & Smoothies Mexican
Customer's reviews..
My first time visiting this place and I had heard great things. We sat inside and the staff were great but I found that the menu was not easily visible and they didn't have much that was gluten-free or low carb. The service was fast and cheerful but the inside lacked something to make it more of a cafe atmosphere. Anyway... We will definitely go back but maybe not for a full meal. Looks like the outdoors would be nice for a coffee.
This gives me all the small town cafe feels I have been missing!

Three Gringos Mexican Grill $
735 Goldstream Ave, Victoria - V9B 2X4
Cuisines: Mexican
Customer's reviews..
Love this place, the staff and my Avocado Chicken Salad, but the last few times has been lacking consistency! Including my salad today literally half the size it usually is. Normally, you get a salad loaded with lettuce and a beautiful array of toppings nestled on top. In addition, my friends wrap was not made to order, missing any sauce entirely.
Food was great and served quickly. One thing though is they need to be transparent on their prices. An item I ordered said clearly on the board and their paper menus what was included in the price, but when I paid for it I was surcharged extra for something clearly included to the posted price. I wonder how many items on the menu people are being surcharged and not being informed. Not good business practice.

Puerto Vallarta Amigos $$
Dock C-12 Fisherman's Wharf, 1 Dallas Rd, Victoria - V8V 0B2
Cuisines: Mexican Vegetarian Food Trucks
Customer's reviews..
Sunshine makes a difference - on a sunny day sit outside in this colourful and cheerful place. Take in the fragrance of the sea and the aroma of Mexican food. Located in Fishermen's Warf the restaurant offers great views of the baby and people strolling by.
We tried DIABLA PRAWNS and it was wonderful! The tomato sauce was full of flavor and prawns were cooks just to perfect. (Just be careful if you are sensitive to spices ask for no spice as their medium spice level can still be spicy for many Canadians). Also fish tacos where so so good. Fish was still moist and juicy, the tortillas were so tasty as well. Best costume service and happy cheerful staff. If you are in fisherman Warf you should definitely try this place, you won't be disappointed at all.

La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop
766 Fort St, Victoria - V8W 1H2
Cuisines: Mexican
Customer's reviews..
Place was good and clean. But food was not the best. I order nachos and a yam and enfrijolada taco. First of all corn tortillas were cold, and when they are cold they break. Yam was extra oily, so wasn't as good as expected. Nachos were really good. The portions are very generous and I think the price is fair, but taste in food was really disappointed. But service was pretty good to.
I feel bad leaving a 1star review but the food was bad, the wait was long and it was over $70 for 4 tacos and a burrito and 2 drinks. As you can see in the picture the tacos were so soggy they crumbled under their own weight. Making them almost inedible, I just didn’t want to waste the money I just spent. The burrito wasn’t really a burrito but more of a salad wrap with chicken tenders. Overall I found the food lacking in flavour. Sorry guys, I hope you do better next time, expected more from one of the taco places in Vic.

Kattia's kitchen authentic Mexican $$
4636 Elk Lake Dr, Victoria - V8Z 5M1
Cuisines: Mexican Food Trucks Caterers
Customer's reviews..
Kattia's food is just delicious and also well priced. Highly recommended.
We were very excited to have a food truck cater our wedding in the summer of 2022. When researching options we discovered Kattia’s Kitchen and we are so glad that we did! We really wanted to support a local business and when we had our first tasting we knew that Kattia’s kitchen was a perfect fit for us. Kattia is professional, organized, and kind. She offers incredibly delicious cuisine, and a menu that could be adjusted for all dietary needs. We had vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, meals that were safe for severe nut allergies, and delicious meat options for those with no restrictions. We were able to add plates, cutlery, and a busser to elevate the experience. Guests were able to go to the food truck, order what they would like, and they quickly received their gorgeous dinner. It was a HUGE hit with our guests. Folks are still raving about the burritos, tacos, bowls, and ice cream burritos sandwiches. If you're looking for a reliable, professional, delicious, and fun option for your wedding or event, I would highly recommend Kattia’s kitchen authentic Mexican.

La Taquisa $

Cuisines: Mexican
Customer's reviews..
We tried this place for the first time today and were excited, given reviews and the lovely service when we arrived. They were out of limes, which is fine as we thought the ones at home should work fine.We ordered two 5 taco deals with a mix of beef, fish and shrimp to try them out. We came home and opened the box and were shocked by what we found. Tacos with barely any toppings, fish ripped to shreds, little to no seasoning or toppings on the beef and some of the tacos were under-cooked. They were basically tacos with a bit of some sauce and pieces of shredded lettuce. That too with unseasoned meat and ripped oily breaded fish. We were very disappointed, as I was personally looking forward to having tacos tonight. Bummer. Did like their salsas and Valentino sauce was nice and spicy, but the tacos themselves are underwhelming compared even to other places we’ve tried in the city. Again, bummer as the staff was nice.
I like what the reviewers ahead of me said: it's a hit or miss 100%.Few of the tacos are delicious, other tastes horrible!Try out and choose wisely, didn't like thr drinks as well.Could be 3/4 stars with enhancing the bad tacos.

TacoTime 942 Hillside $
942 Hillside Ave, Victoria - V8T 2A1
Cuisines: Mexican
Customer's reviews..
Honestly, it was probably annoying when I called and tried to make a substitution to an order I placed on skip the dishes while they were in the middle of making it. The staff accommodated my request, and were super nice! They sounded cheerful and I just hope they’re having a nice night! Food is always great especially considering it’s fast food! Thanks so much!
I have been a loyal customer for the last 20yrs plus at TacoTime hillside location. Prior to the last time I was there I was told I have to now start paying for the extra hot sauce which I usually get for free and I had no problem with that. I didnt have an issue paying for the extra hot sauce then the next time I went there the owner told me that I can't get extra hot sauce even though I'm willing to pay for it. So I turn quietly and patiently around and started walking out of the restaurant without saying a single word. The owner then said don't ever come back here.

Mexigo
777 Royal Oak Dr, Victoria - V8X 5H5

Customer's reviews..
Mushy and flavourless. First time I add salt to Mexican food. More expensive, smaller portion and much worst taste than Chipotle.
Honestly pretty dissapointed…. I’m celiac so I can’t have gluten. Basically everything on their menu has gluten except for the taco salad. I couldn’t get the tortilla strips in it and I don’t like refried beans so I told the girl at the counter to Include more lettuce instead…. This salad costed me $15!!! There’s a very small amount of shredded lettuce which is just ridiculous because lettuce is cheap, they shouldn’t be stingy on lettuce in a SALAD!? After reading another review of their salads it seems like this is a common issue… I’d suggest management to rectify as I’m definitely not going back now knowing their portions are tiny, and quality/quantity of food is overpriced ?

Favourite Victoria place for quality take out mexican food. The Baja style shrimp burrito is my favourite. People are great, so do tip the team for its great prep and quality.

What a joke excuse for customer service. will be sure not to come back to this location or recommend it to ANYONE. less of a waste of time to go downtown.

Hard working staff, spectacular prices, delicious food, and on time! I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
First time eating mucho burrito outside of my goto Langford location. I love the food here and it never disappoints my wallet or stomach. Food is fresh and was made promptly. Not too busy inside the store but outside was a mad house. Would have been 5 stars but the location sucks hard. The parking is a nightmare and the spots are very small and cramped together. Staff was friendly and polite and happy to know that I support the few franchises on the isles and eat there often. Keep up the good work and great food..

Customer's reviews..
Ordered a couple burritos to be delivered here at work. Waited and waited and didn't receive them. So now it's too late in the day and I've got no food and I've got boxing lesson after work. Now I'm tired and hangry. Not good. I was told nope they're not coming here's your money back. Why not tell me in the first place so I could get food elsewhere. If taco time is good with this delivery service then I gotta give them a review for it so they will see it.
Ordered online for pickup last night, paid, drove down.. store closed.. 2 full hours before its listed hours of operation on google and the TT website. It is currently 2 hours after the listed opening time and theres no answer to my calls. How can you possibly run a business this way?
