Beacon Drive In Restaurant $
126 Douglas St, Victoria - V8V 2N9
Cuisines: Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Burgers
Customer's reviews..
My cheeseburger tasted funny and the fries have a weird like almost like breaded then fried. The chicken strips were very dry as well. I will say that the ice cream servings are very big and pretty good ? I wouldn't recommend the food but the ice cream is decent.
I love Beacon Drive In as it is an old style business. You can eat in or take out. They have parking and it’s right beside Beacon Hill Park. Their soft ice-cream is the best! You can tell by the taste that they don’t short change on their ingredients. Check it out when you’re in Victoria!!

Virtuous Pie $$
530 Pandora Ave, Victoria - V8W 1N6
Cuisines: Vegan Pizza Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt
Customer's reviews..
As a non - vegan, I was sceptical, but went with my son as he said it was great. I had the Lychee Boba cocktail (delicious!) and the pepperoni pizza. Having eaten authentic pizza in Italy, this was just as good, if not better topped with a little of the ‘parmesan’ (aka nutritional yeast). The artichoke dip was also a flavourful appetizer and we finished the meal with an ‘ice cream’ sandwich. A wonderful experience and highly recommend!
I'm going to preface my review by saying that I am not a vegan, or vegetarian. But I was curious, and this place was highly recommended to me - and rightly so!After living in BC for a year, this place does the best pizza I've had so far! It's a shame I had to take a ferry from Vancouver for it... but I was informed that there are locations on the mainland!Anyway, back to the pizza. They use a thin crust, no deep dish pizza here. Light and crispy, yet not dry. I ordered the Stranger Wings (it uses cauliflower instead of chicken, don't worry!), and it had the perfect balance of heat. If I was being super picky, it could have been a little more generous with the toppings, but only barely. The fresh house-made lemonade is also excellent and makes a great refreshing drink. The lavender and camomile is subtle but adds just enough to it to make it stand apart from usual lemonade. They also make a version with ginger which I'll absolutely try next time. Finally, dessert. Anyone dining here absolutely must try the cinnamon pillows. Divine. I'd recommend sharing with a friend as I felt a little guilty having the portion all to myself...I ordered mine with some of their house-made vanilla icecream as well. This was the one dish that was a little lackluster. The coconut came through more than the vanilla, so some extra vanilla bean may bump it up to a standout item. They do offer a variety of other flavours that I'll certainly try on a return visit.Overall, amazing venue, service and food. 100% would return, and I look forward to the next visit! Thank you to the team at Virtuous Pie!

Chocolats Favoris $
1010 Government St, Victoria - V8W 1X7
Cuisines: Dessert Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Chocolatiers & Shops
Customer's reviews..
My husband and I were visiting Victoria and went to the shop on his birthday, ice cream is his favourite dessert. We ordered a the ultimate brownie dessert bowl. The server dropped some of the brownie pieces on the not so clean counter as she was taking them from the freezer to put in the microwave. Wish I would have said something then. Anyway, half the dessert was whipped cream…could hardly find the ice cream in there. The brownie pieces were stale, and just awful. The whole thing was a disaster. We threw it in the garbage, Macdonald’s would have been significantly better. I would have complained, but it was my husband’s birthday and he didn’t want to make a fuss. Horrible experience, maybe dipped cones are the specialty, steer clear of the brownie bowl.
Known for there very creative toppings and flavours, Chocolats Favoris is a must when trying to crave a sweet tooth! I would recommend trying a variety of cones, and upgrading in size is definitely worth it, the ice cream is huge. The other snacks and such are also very tasty and great for gifts. The colours, smells, and services creates a welcoming environment. One of the best ice cream shops in the city!Taste: ExcellentPresentation: ExcellentService: GoodUniqueness: ExcellentAtmosphere: Excellent

Parachute Ice Cream - Victoria $$
105-2626 Bridge St, Victoria - V8T 4S9
Cuisines: Ice Cream Shop Ice Cream Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt
Customer's reviews..
Located in the more industrial side of Victoria, ice cream is one of the top choice. You can buy the ice cream by the pint for 10$. That being said, locally owned and I’ve cream made in store. There are some great flavours, favourites are carrot cake and mini eggs (when in season). The customer service has always been great when I’ve gone and despite reviews with 1 star saying it’s awful, the shop is busy due to it being popular and having good ice cream not due to lack of care from employees. Additionally I think I read that the shop was not sanitary, it looks clean every time, even when they are working on making ice cream, cones.Highly recommend!
I love ice cream, and Parachute is by far my favourite ice cream shop in Victoria. They have a variety of flavours, both 'typical' and 'unique' and you can find their pints at a bunch of local stores around town. I have always been greeted by friendly staff.Recently I went to parachute and I was disappointed to discover they have once again increased their prices and certain flavours are also an extra charge. I also feel they may have decreased their serving size as well? I understand that the cost of everything has increased, but going for a fun tasty treat is slowly becoming further out of reach.

FreshCoast Health Food Bar $$
3749 Shelbourne St #202, Victoria - V8P 5N4
Cuisines: Health Food Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Salad
Customer's reviews..
I returned a bowl because I honestly felt like I was being had, I expected a fresh food bowl like I've had from other shops of the same style but this one was 90% lettuce with some vegetables on top, and a very small amount of chicken as well. It doesn't feel right to pay $17 for what is essentially a small salad. Fresh, healthy, local whatever - it's massive mark-up.
Our favorite go-to for fast, fresh, nourishing and delicious meals. We always go for wraps or bowls. We order regularly and have never been disappointed. Fair veg substitutions at no extra cost is always appreciated. Fast & friendly service always as well. I hope they eventually get to open more locations as we love it so much and would grab it everywhere we go.

Ice cream enough said. always been THE place to stop for a waffle cone.
Lots of flavors, all of which were delicious. My husband is celiac, so gluten-free is not optional for him, and the lady serving us washed the scooper and took out a fresh unopened tub of ice cream for him to ensure there would be no cross-contamination. Outstanding service, and a lovely place to sit and have your ice cream.

Jackson's Ice Cream Float $
1 Dallas Rd, Victoria - V8V 0B2
Cuisines: Ice Cream Shop Ice Cream Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt
Customer's reviews..
Jackson's is open just for the summer season from May to mid-October where you can get soft ice-cream, hard ice cream, ice cream for lactose-intolerant consumers, different cones and toppings! The ice-creams are made on Vancouver Island and nice servers give generous scoops. Covid-19 protocols are in place: servers are behind plexiglass, wearing masks, have markers on the floor for socially-distanced queue, sanitization station and contact-free tap credit card payment. I felt very safe. Lovely views of the Wharf, green park nearby, other yummy restaurants there...definitely a casual tourist stop on a sunny day. The shop may not be open on a rainy day so check their Facebook that morning if you plan to go there for ice cream that day.
So, this is a tough one. Delicious ice cream, great service, reasonably priced and portioned. But an environmental blemish on the Wharf. Clearly the Wharf is trying to encourage a zero pollution solution. Placing a general waste bin in front of your establishment just encourages pollution. Had to swallow a lot of pride and great ice cream to give 4 stars.

Momo Tea $
762 Yates St, Victoria - V8W 1L4
Cuisines: Ice Cream Shop Ice Cream Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt
Customer's reviews..
We went to this place Monday (Aug 16) evening. The soft ice cream was excellent! Chocolate Trio and Rainbow Candy both were not too sweet compared to any other ice cream we've had before. The owner was super nice and accomodating and would answer our questions regarding the ice cream despite being busy and knows his product very well. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Victoria to try out this place.
Accidentally ordered the wrong thing because the only difference between two completely different drinks was the words milk and tea, they were very rude about it and made a huge fuss. They remade it, it was still disappointing. The one I originally got was barely sweet, the boba was tough and barely cooked. The second one I got was a brown sugar milk Boba, could barely taste the brown sugar, and the Boba was again not cooked. Will never be going here again because the rude staff and the honestly mediocre bubble tea.

A wide variety of choices. I have tried at least 6 choices and they were all delicious.
Staff was absolutely wonderful! Brought a large group of kids in to play games and get ice cream and the young blonde staff member was incredibly kind and patient with the kids, even though there was lots of us and only two staff members. It made the experience for them and myself so easy and fun! Thank you to her!

The Belgian chocolate was good. I did not enjoy the 3 in one flavor composed of pistachio, vanilla and chocolate
Last week, I visited in Victoria and bought 33 icewine tea boxes and 50 maple cookies in Oh Gelato. After coming back to my country, I saw the best before date on the tea boxes is 20/06/2020. It passes almost 2 years.I can't give these items to my friends and it costs about CAD$198. Just feel terrible now.

I find DQ to be overpriced for the quality and quantity of their food. They do ice cream well, but as far as food is concerned.... $15 for a few cold, dried out chicken stips and fries is a bit much. Blizzards are good though!
Peanut Buster Parfait. What's not to love. Quick service, smiling face, cool treat on a warm day after a hike.

Best vegan ice cream around. Mint chip, peach, spice plum and blackberry orange have been some of my favs and they have charcoal waffle cones to boot. Great place to grab a coffee and cookie or scone to head out. Did I mention they also serve cake and other food? So good.
This truly is a hidden gem. They serve up a mean cappuccino and always include a little cookie. This place is chock a block full of charm. Enjoy a freshly baked in house pastry and the wonderful staff. I can't say enough.

Dairy Queen Grill & Chill

Customer's reviews..
Just had a brutal experience here on a Friday night at about 8pm. We waited in line for at least 20 minutes while the two staff rushed around trying to complete door dash orders as the in-person line up grew behind us. Finally someone asked what was going on and the poor lady behind the counter got upset because they were so slammed and it was just the two of them. If she had even just taken a second to tell everyone that they were super busy with online orders and would be with us as soon as possible it would have gone a long way. When our order was finally taken, a really young kid (13 or 14) emerged from the back and made it for us. Unfortunately, both our blizzards were soft, mine was so bad that it was inedible. I would call it soup at best.I got home and put it in the freezer to try to save it, but it was a looong way from being able to be turned upside down!
This place is a joke. Waited 15 minutes for two milkshakes only to be handed them by some guy who’s hands were covered in whipped topping and ice cream. The cup was so slimy and gross and when I tried to take a sip it was all chocolate syrup. Will never come here again.

Customer's reviews..
The meal was okay but the cleanliness is lacking. Up until a week ago you could not done in and the exterior tables were filthy. They were today too. Cleaning outside for customer safety does not seem to be a priority
I haven't been to a DQ in ages...don't have one in my wee town, and it's a long drive to the View Royal outlet. Went to Can Tire to buy my granddaughter a basketball hoop and ball, success! Lunch time. So walked over to the DQ with a plan for an Ultimate burger, a nice treat for Grandpa. Place was empty, lots of chairs semi-grouped in clumps, made me ask if there was inside dining. Yes, she said. One staffer on duty. I did a quick walk around to survey the place, extremely disorganized, only a few tables available, all but one needed a wipe-down. Floor needed a sweep. I went back to the front counter and read the overhead menu boards, didn't see the Ultimate. I asked if it was still on the menu, staff turned around and looked, then said "We have". English deficiency. I asked her what is in the Ultimate, and she pointed at the burger board, but it's not there. She points again. Still not there. The place isn't very clean, and the one clean table is surrounded by random chairs just like someone's garage or basement. Too low effort. Time for me to go. Somewhere else.Response to the owner. What part of my review did you not understand?

Gonzales Coffee
1548 Fairfield Rd, Victoria - V8S 1G1
Cuisines: Coffee Shops Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt
Customer's reviews..
Great coffee! Just tried the breakfast sandwich food-wise but delicious. The staff is super friendly and today had a running commentary on local cute dogs walking by.
The barista was very nice, but the food and drink were pretty bad.For starters, the food case was sparse, and the prices were quite high for very small portions of premade and plastic-wrapped items, even in our inflated world. For that price I'd expect much better and fresher choices. My breakfast bun was at least a day old, made with processed cheese and cheap packaged ham, and microwaved instead of grilled so the English muffin was gummy and damp. The espresso in my mocha was bitter, and the premade chocolate milk was outdated and funky, leaving it undrinkable. (Maybe a refrigeration problem?)I'm happy to support local small business, but when your entire business is food and drink, you need to do them right or people will just stop coming.Having driven away before trying my purchases, I tried to call the business to tell them about the milk, but the business has no listed phone number. If they don't start taking food quality much more seriously, I doubt that this business will still be there next year. You build a food business with superior product that brings your patrons back, not with margins from inferior ingredients and smaller portions that make your patrons shop elsewhere. The only way I'd choose to give Gonzales Coffee another chance would be after they announced a major overhaul of their offerings, practices and values. For the record, I left a 25% tip as the food quality was not the barista's fault.
